Jennifer lands in the Castle!

Posted by admin on Friday Jan 20, 2012 Under Uncategorized

Jennifer Beals is an actress of rare conviction. She is someone, who not only carries off a lot of confidence along, but also believes in herself above everything else around her.

The L Word

In the past, after delivering spellbinding and daring performances in The L Word episodes, she started looking at life from a very different perspective, stood for LSBT people and their rights, and became a part of prestigious charity events, simply to give it back to a society that values and respects her as a performer.

The creators of ABC’s, Castle probably fell for the same conviction, and her self-belief to sign her up for a guest role on the show that promises to return with brand new installments on January 9, 2012.

We guessed it right; strength of character is something that the guest role must have demanded from its performer. The role is that of Sophia Conrad, a CIA operative, who is not only tough and brainy, but is also drop-dead gorgeous.

Sophia will be assisting Beckett and Castle in tracking down a CIA agent, whose intentions have turned evil, and is suspected to be behind a heinous murder.

Eventually, the audience will come to know of Castle and Sophia’ strange association in the past, and a few facts that will highlight the importance of Sophia’s two-episode long appearance in the upcoming season of the series.

Beals follows Mark Pellegrino’s guest appearance on the show, as her next appearance after The Chicago Code – a show that was pulled out by Fox, only after the first season.

Castle installments featuring Jennifer Beals will be aired in February 2012. Till then, we can probably check out the amount of justice carried out by Justin Hartley and Hilarie Burton to the show, as they appear as a pair on an upcoming installment of the series.

Inspired From The L Word!

Posted by admin on Tuesday Jan 10, 2012 Under Uncategorized

Our stars are never out of those scenes, in which there is something noble happening.

The L Word

I would want to rephrase my aforementioned statement, as we are able to see the brisk winds of change, in the perception of the layman too, when it comes to philanthropic works.

It is often believed by many, that people get inspired by stars, after watching them all portraying powerful characters on numerous shows.

Here, I must admit that it certainly is true, and I have got an example to share with you, to prove the same.

Let me bring to your attention Kirsty McCran; an otherwise ordinary girl, who happens to be an avid viewer of Showtime’s drama series, The L-Word.

Now you must be wondering what exceptional thing has she done, which makes her the matter of discussion today?

If you are aware of the L Word convention, then probably you would have an idea about what exactly I am going to talk of.

But if you don’t, then don’t worry, because I will make each and every detail crystal clear to you.

So here I begin!

From November 11th to the 13th, the convention was held at Birmingham based  Metropole Hotel.

Now ask me how and why Kirsty McCran has been highlighted by me, in the first place?

So, the reason is that when Kirsty became aware of the fact that the L9 convention is taking place, in order to propagate National Anti-Bullying Week, she felt a great urge to slot in another valuable idea of fundraising for Stonewell.

The idea of Kirsty, centered on raising funds for gay and lesbian charities!

The organizer of the event, Sean Harry, liked the idea so much that he instantly agreed to it, and asked the lady to go ahead with her initiative.

Wow!

This crazy enthusiast, who perhaps draws inspiration from The L Word episodes, stated to promote the theme with full vigor as well as with the support of the organizers.

Not lagging behind in this noble task, the star from the series The L Word, Elizabeth Keener, also became a part of this event.

All in all, this event not only had been inspiring and encouraging to Kirsty, but the visitors too.

Way to go girl!

Jennifer Beals In A Flashdance Retrospective!

Posted by admin on Friday Nov 4, 2011 Under Uncategorized

Yes, we are discussing the same Jennifer Beals, who plays the character of Bette Porter in the TV series, The L Word.

For her young admirers, who just can’t get enough of her from a download or two, here she is on a TV show, shedding light and discussing the role that unlocked for her the doors of stardom.

Her role in the 1983 movie Flashdance as Alex Owens brought her huge public attention and carved out her identity in the industry.

A role that was unique in its own way had Alex working as a welder in the day, and transform into a dancer by night.

In the talk show Migliori Anni (The Best Years), Jennifer got this opportunity to revive the nostalgia surrounding the role and all the memories of a film that cemented her name in pages of entertainment history.

She recollected the days of hard work that helped her perfect the famous dance doubles in the movie.

When the topic of Massimo Troisi, the man who scripted and performed the second most popular track, Maniac was brought up, she chose to discuss him with all the respect and expressed her grief on his demise.

It was difficult for her to hold back tears, when she recollected his death soon after completing the project Il Postino. She had set up memoirs from Troisi’s collection of work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, as she strongly felt the world needed to know more about its ‘silent geniuses’.

It’s no wonder that the actress is so enthusiastic about artists of great value, as she herself is an artist of great caliber. Watch The L Word online and see her in the role that has made her a household name.

I am not aware of the exact reason, but a lot of viewers and fans of The L-Word, thought that despite the show having contributed to all the lesbian talks around Laurel Holloman, for all these years, her real life straight relationship was rock solid.

One certainly has to get a The L Word download to be able to gauge the effects that her role had and continues to have, on her sexual identity.

A download of the show can get us closer to the lesbian character of Tina Kennard that she played on the show.

The character dreams of settling down in for a lifetime, with her girlfriend Bette. The tale proceeds further, with Tina losing her artificially inseminated child, and going through a series of break ups and patch ups, to finally start exploring the straight side of her sexuality.

But then, the turn in the tale in the final season of the show, has Tina realizing that she was meant just for Bette and she once again, tries rekindling their not-so-straight relationship.

Now listen to this: in Laurel’s real life, at present, the actress has already filed for a divorce against architect husband, Paul Machery, with whom she had been married for nine years.

The relationship, once thought to be rock-solid and tough enough to make its way through all the L-Word effects, had hit the rocks in 2010 and the couple had been staying separately, since then.

Laurel has filed a petition with the judge, requesting him to block Paul’s chances of being able to share custody of their two daughters.

Well, it is both difficult and dangerous to be able to guess the reasons behind her decision, but as per the divorce papers filed by her; the reason was some irreconcilable differences between them.

I just hope that it isn’t an L-Reason!

I guess, we just have to wait and watch!

The hardworking, The L Word episodes actress, Jennifer Beals will be honored by the Matthew Shepard Foundation on Oct 15, 2011, with the ‘Making a Difference’ award.

Well, I agree with the board of directors of the foundation for that one! The actress really deserved to be recognized for being a constant supporter to the LGBT community. And, what makes her stand apart from the crowd is her humanitarian attitude towards everything. She’s been a regular abettor of the great foundation since always.

And, it’s her ability to express that prompted her to lend a helping hand wherever needed! Playing Bette Porter for six consecutive years on the most acclaimed series, The L Word let the lady understand the transgender fraternity from close. That’s the reason she’s always given a highly visible support to their downtrodden rights.

Though I’m a huge fan of the show and love to read about each girl annexed to it, Beals is just something else! She’s got the tenderest heart ever, accentuating her graceful looks.

Well, it really takes a lot of guts to play the part of a lesbian on national TV, but Beals took the challenge, for she felt concerned for the LGBT community and wished to do something for them.

Considering just how remarkable the lady is, the news comes as no surprise to me. Earlier also, the screen siren and humanitarian Beals nabbed a Golden Globe nomination for an iconic role in the 1983 movie, ‘Flashdance.’

Thereafter, she earned recoganization for her notable performance in ‘The Chicago Code.’ Not just this, but if one sees her benevolent side, she emerged as the supporting voice to the LGBT rights at the 2006 San Francisco Pride parade.

Now, who will not say that she’s a lady with a golden heart?

The L Word Actor Jennifer Beals Cries Out For Dalai Lama!

Posted by admin on Sunday Jul 31, 2011 Under Uncategorized

Yes! She did cry out for Dalai Lama!

And she even ran through the crowded Chicago streets, informing the masses at large, about the visit of His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, to the city.

I am talking about the very famous Jennifer Beals, who, apart from being a star, is also a devoted Buddhist disciple. Not the type of disciple who preach on television, only indulge in other vanities, off it, but she is a follower who has made it a way of life.

Jennifer Beals has been practicing Buddhism since the last 14 years, and finds peace in the teachings of the religion that does not demand you to take anything on the basis of faith. Instead, it gives you the opportunity to believe in things, only after a logical investigation.

She revealed her Buddhist leanings in an interview, regarding the long awaited visit of His Highness the 14th Dalai Lama, who addressed listeners at the UIC Pavilion on Sunday, July 17. After that, he headed for a panel discussion at the Harris Theatre.

Jennifer’s attempts at publicizing the events didn’t go unnoticed, as the panel discussion at the Harris Theater was completely sold out! Kudos, mademoiselle Beals!

For the actor, who shot to fame with her role in the hit television series, The L Word, Buddhism is all about realizing the teachings of Buddha, and understanding them at different levels in different circumstances.

The peace and calm that have enveloped her life after she embraced Buddhism is reflected in her work, which have been varied and diverse.

The L Word download highlights performances that brought her recognition from each and every corner of the world. The actor is also known for her acclaimed performances in movies like the Flashdance, and Devil in a Blue Dress, apart from some other television shows like Lie to Me, and The Chicago Code.

So guys, watch out for more divine developments, and I hope that would ignite all the curiosity in you to peek into the insights of life that Buddhism has to offer.

Well, well, well!

We have another actor, who feels like ‘born to be a star’. I am not mocking Jennifer Beals’ statement, through which she revealed that becoming an actor wasn’t one of her ambitions. The petite actor revealed that it was just that her ability to express prompted her to choose acting.

I totally agree with the hottie, and I am sure most of you would nod to that, more so when you obtain The L Word download and go through some of the ‘expressive’ acts of the screen siren! During a recent tête-à-tête, Jennifer also mentioned about her path-breaking role in the lesbian-centric series.

She hinted herself as blessed, for being roped in it!

Undoubtedly, it takes a lot of guts to sign in on for a lesbian character, as the concept of same-sex relationship hasn’t been accepted whole-heartedly in many parts of the world.

Jennifer Beals’ acts as Bette Porter were flawless. She was also associated with a crime drama, The Chicago Code for some time, before the show got cancelled in May.

However, this doesn’t mean that there is a dearth of work for this hottie. I am sure that for an actor like her, who knows her true potential, proposals for working on new projects would come flying off! Till then, it would be interesting to watch her previous stint and thrive on speculations!

The hardworking ‘The L Word’ actress Jennifer Beals is shouting loud! She is certainly making a sincere effort to spread the news about Dalai Lama’s visit to her native place, Chicago.

The reason behind her excitement is that the lady follows the teachings of His Holiness. She also follows his message of building partnerships, which need to be formed between not only political organizations, but also religious ones, in order to achieve common social, environmental and monetary goals.

To witness the great soul, who considers himself only to be a Buddhist monk, you can be a part of the gathering that will assemble at UIC Pavilion and Harris Theatre on July 17 & 18.

To bring His Holiness face to face with the people of Chicago, the sincere efforts have been made by the Theosophical Society in America.

Well! This is not for the first time that Dalai Lama will mark his presence here, as this would be his fifth visit.

Talking about Jennifer Beals, who is quite active in relation to Dalai Lama’s visit, she is widely known for portraying the role of Bette Porter in The L Word episodes.

Along with giving out her best in the entertainment industry, she is also doing the job of a social activist perfectly. This is very commendable!

Anyone who saw her on The L-Word, would think of Jennifer Beals as a submissive girl, facing issues with her sexuality and race, akin to her lead role as Bette Porter on the show.

But, it’s time for a re-innovation for the interracial beauty, as she takes on a brand new role on FOX’s recently aired series, The Chicago Code.

Jessica is seen playing the role of an upright police officer, Teresa Colvin on the series. The role is that of a headstrong and confident young woman, who’s ready to brave all odds in her battle against corruption.

If you can imagine her latest role and compare it with the one  she played in The L Word, you’ll notice how vast the contrast is.

It goes without saying that Jessica had to undergo rigorous preparation before she could actually get into the skin of her character. Talking of the research that she got into for the role, the doe-eyed beauty reveals that she went with homicide detectives from Chicago.

In fact, this fact caused the show to be initially named as ‘Ride-Along’, after which it underwent a name change.

As for Jessica, along with learning a great deal about all that goes on behind the crime scenes, she gathered a few interesting anecdotes during her training procedure.

Her favorite one, as she describes, is one that involved a mentally upset woman who refused to wear her shirt, at a coffee shop. On being coaxed to cover up, the woman turned to Jessica for help.

What’s really funny is that she thought of Jessica to be President Obama’s sister!

Taken for President’s sister is undoubtedly something! Even Jennifer wouldn’t have imagined her The L Word image to undergo such a change.
